I want to be a revolutionary

One of the greatest injustices we do to our young people is to ask them to be conservative. Christianity is not conservative, but revolutionary. To be conservative today is to miss the whole point, for conservation means standing in the flow of the status quo, and the status quo no longer belongs to us... If we want to be fair, we must teach the young to be revolutionaries, revolutionaries against the status quo.

A quote from Francis Schaeffer. I really like it!
What do you think about it?

i think both labels are dangerous...conservatives; for the reasons you mentioned..revolutionaries,because it tends to make people think individualistically and 'against' others...when the most revolutionary thing we can do is to really try to love others...the way jesus did...revolutionary sounds exciting and glamorous in some way...following jesus is 'conservative' liberal..."revolutionary" respectful, submissive, traditonal, crazy and wise....sad and happy..courageous and weak...freeing and confining...beautiful and confronting ugly... love, mama

on a philosphical level, I agree w/ Anonymous, but on a practical level in 2009 in Raleigh, NC... I can't help but agree w/ Schaffer!
