Every time I hang out with my neighbor I learn something new. Barb has so many different amazing talents. One of them is growing the biggest sunflower I have ever see.
Yesterday I was in mid conversation with her and looked up and was like... "OH MY GOSH!! Is that real?" I knew these things got big, but seriously, the flower part of that plant probably weighs over 30 lbs.
Maridee is showing off a piece of the leaf. For those of you who don't know, sunflower leaves feel a little like sandpaper. It pretty cool.
They also have rosemary, basil, dill and tomatoes. I'm inspired by them.
My tomato plant that I planted a few months ago is already dead... I think I'm going to let it go for now. Maybe I'll start a garden next season.

We should have a neighborhood garden on some common land (or unused lot)! We have friends in Bburg who do this and it works out great!
great idea!
